Cancellation and Refund Policy
This Cancellation and Refund Policy explains how Iron Hitch Rentals ("we," "us," or "our") handles cancellations, changes, and refunds for rentals booked through our website or directly with us. The specific terms shown to you at the time of booking, and your signed Rental Agreement, apply to your rental and take priority over this general policy if the two differ.
1. Cancelling a Reservation
- 48 hours or more before your rental starts: cancel for a full refund of the rental charges you paid.
- Less than 48 hours before your rental starts: a cancellation fee of up to one day's rental may apply, and the rest is refunded.
- No-show: if your rental goes unused and you have not cancelled, the rental charges may be non-refundable.

2. Security Deposit
Your security deposit is charged together with your rental at the time of payment, and it appears as its own line on your receipt. It covers damage, loss, late return, and the other charges described in your Rental Agreement.
If you cancel before your rental starts, your security deposit is refunded in full. After a completed rental, your deposit is refunded once the rental has been returned and inspected, less any documented damage, loss, fuel, cleaning, late fees, or other amounts owed under your Rental Agreement. If those amounts are more than the deposit, the difference may be charged to the payment method on file.
3. Changes to a Reservation
We will try to accommodate changes to your dates, times, or rental, subject to availability. Any difference in price will be charged or refunded. A change requested less than 48 hours before your rental starts may be treated as a cancellation under Section 1.
4. Early Returns and Unused Time
Rentals are priced for the period you reserve. Returning early does not entitle you to a refund for unused time unless we agree to it in writing.
5. If We Cancel
If we have to cancel your reservation -- for example because the rental becomes unavailable or unsafe to use -- we will refund everything you paid for that reservation, including your security deposit.
6. Weather and Safety
If severe weather or another safety concern makes it unsafe to use your rental, contact us before your rental starts. We will work with you to reschedule or cancel, and we may waive the late cancellation fee at our discretion.
7. How Refunds Are Issued
Refunds are returned to the original payment method used for the booking. Once we issue a refund, it usually appears within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
